Isn't this a great piece? It's going to become a sitting woman with her legs crossed, maybe a gazing-ball for a head. I will work on this next week and decide whether she belongs outside or inside. She may need a rock to sit on. Her name, of course, is Persistence.
A while ago I posted about the big wisteria in front of my house with the rotten tree inside--"Abrazo fatal/abrazo vacio." Well, for the last two days the tree removal crew has been here, taking down all the dead wood and hauling it away. While I was on the road trip a huge tree had come down across our little bayou next to the house, and since the roots are on my side, I figured it was my responsibility to take care of it. So, active chain saws and a small tractor to haul the heavy wood, three men with ropes and rakes, many trucks. They did a fine job and cleaned up after themselves. At my request, they preserved the abrazo section of the wisteria and deposited it under a tree in front of the house.
