In the meantime, I'm putting together ideas for a commissioned piece and planning some more small landscapes for my one-person show in October. Sister GeeGee and I are perusing each other's libraries with interest and watching a lot of movies, catching up on mutual interests. With another person here, I find I'm planning meals more carefully and eating better.
Priscilla the one-eyed cat is particularly happy to have a new, warm lap to cuddle on. We spend most mornings with coffee, home-made granola and reading materials in the living room--a place I rarely used before GeeGee came. I mostly did my reading in the studio or my bedroom "nest." Now we have two chairs and socialization, and of course, cats.
We entertained a friend for dinner a couple of days ago, which entailed some feverish and much needed house cleaning. We both clean only when necessary--so we've resolved to have guests occasionally to stimulate better behavior. The place looks much better with clutter put away.
Having a visitor was also an incentive to change out the quilts in my entryway. For the past couple of years I've had "Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe" taking up one wall, but her fabrics were looking tired and stressed. So now "Canopy" is on the wall, looking very nice against the coral paint.
