i went out to buy rods and hanging materials, and installed the work a day or so later.
"Cocktail Hour: Mary Meets Mayahuel" flanking an antique piece in the living room. These are the women she referred to, and they look oddly at home in this large room overlooking Eagle Lake. (Yes, we do have a lake here).
"Fra Angelico's Menagerie" is right across the room from Mary & Mayahuel, installed on the masonry fireplace (where fires never happen). It took several visits and my son with his masonry drill to get that one on the wall. Note to self: Command strips don't stick to masonry!
There was a bright side, however--on one of the visits, I brought a new piece just to show the patron. She decided then and there to buy that one also, for her guest room. Another visit to Quilted Skein in LaGrange to pick up a hanging rod, and we installed it in the room where her grandchildren stay.
Lots of other activity in the studio recently. I am getting a few pieces photographed on Friday. In June I will be exhibiting work at St. Mark's Methodist Church in Houston; we'll visit next week to see the gallery and figure out which ones will best fit the space.
There are still pandemic concerns, but life is opening up a bit, some of the plants will surely survive, and soon enough we'll be complaining about the heat and humidity.
