One of the singers was also the needlepoint teacher, passing out kits to interested passengers. All three of us participated; for Gee Gee and Penny it was a first. I've done quite a bit of needlepoint over the years and our mother was a real enthusiast. We all made fine progress on our small projects
Penny took this photo (the yellow Jacobean piece at the bottom is hers). I look way more serious than I felt at the time--but note the cool Tlingit design red scarf. Gee Gee seems to be having the most fun.
We kept remarking that we were channeling Audrey (our mother) and our grandmother Rose. It was a really nice way to pass the time, and if you finished one kit, you could get another. On the last day I claimed my second kit, which I haven't yet started to stitch.
Once home, it was lovely to be in our own beds again (bliss--a room to oneself!). Laundry and grocery shopping are done. Tonight we'll participate in Eagle Lake Alive!, the annual street festival. I have some work on display in a realty office, so will be attending that and explaining the work to interested people. Food trucks, music, and a chance to meet the new City Manager. That's what we do for thrills in Eagle Lake.
